An Exciting Site Visit | West Michigan Burial Forest

Update as of 1/1/24: The easement with MDARD disappointingly fell through and we began working with another conservation organization.

It was an exciting week at the burial forest (to-be)!

We had a site visit at the property, which is part of the process to get a conservation easement. Elizabeth, on the left, is from the conservation division of MDARD (Michigan Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Development). She heard about conservation burial FIFTEEN years ago, and told us she has been waiting to see this happen ever since. To say we are thrilled is an understatement.

Peter and Annica (in the toasted marshmallow coat 😂) celebrated afterwards at Newaygo Brewing Co.!
