Happy Birthday to Me (Annica)!

We spent my 35th birthday at the property, and it was the sunniest birthday I’ve ever had! The day was BRIGHT and golden sunshine glittered through the great white pines all around us. I made a fire, we drank hot cocoa, ate key lime pie, and we smiled a lot.

I feel immense gratitude for my 35 trips around the sun, and can’t get enough of seeing my kids enjoy the beauty and wonder of this very special forest. To know that this land will someday (hopefully soon!) be a place where people come together for deeply meaningful connection with loved ones - the living and the dead - makes it already feel sacred.

I’m hopeful that by my next birthday, we will be holding space in this forest for heartache and healing, for the celebration of beautiful lives, and for transformative experiences through participation in serene green burials.
